How Many NFL Championships Has Your Team Won?

The Green Bay Packers’ 13 championships are more than any other NFL team has won.
We’re barreling toward the 49th Super Bowl this year, and most people are gunning for a hometown team championship. It is scheduled to be played on February 1, 2015, at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, home of the Arizona Cardinals.
TALK IS CHEST SHEET- While the Super Bowl era has been around for awhile, remember that there were championship games well before the Lombardi Trophy came into existence. The league officially began in 1920 (which is way more than 49 years ago, just for the record.)
Simply Sports Notes takes a look at which teams have the most total NFL championships, Super Bowls included.
1. The Green Bay Packers have won 13 championships since 1921. Only 4 of them came during the Super Bowl era, however.
2. The Chicago Bears have 9 total championships to their name. Their single Super Bowl, though, was (not shockingly) with the 1985 team.
3. The New York Giants have won 8 NFL championships since they were established. Half of these occurred during the Super Era era, with the most recent coming after the 2011 season.
4. The Cleveland Browns (actually shockingly) have also won 8 championships in their existence. Not even one of these, though, has been a Super Bowl.

5. The Pittsburgh Steelers, though founded in 1933, have won all 6 of their championships during the Super Bowl era.
6. The Dallas Cowboys, who who weren’t established until 1960, have 5 total championships, all Super Bowls.
7. Even though the San Francisco 49ers were founded in the 1940s, they’ve won all 5 of their championships during the Super Bowl era.
8. The Washington Redskins, founded in 1932, have won 5 championships, 3 of which have come since the establishment of the Super Bowl.
9. The Baltimore/Indianapolis Colts have 4 total championships; 2 of these were Super Bowls, 1 with Johnny Unitas and 1 with Peyton Manning.
10. The Detroit Lions, established 1930, have also won 4 championships, all of which came before the existence of the Super Bowl. Ouch.
